If you need to, you can reset an account’s password without modifying any other user account information, if you have the PRIV_ACCOUNT privilege in your role.
When you reset a password, Portfolio assigns a random string as the password and emails it to the address specified in the account. The owner of the account can then log in to the Admin console and change the password by editing the settings for the account. (For more information, see Editing your own account.)
You can change your own password. For example, you can change the password for the “admin” account in Edit Account while you are logged in to the “admin” account.
To reset the password for an administrative account
| 1 | Log in to the Admin console. |
| 2 | Choose Security from the navigation pane. |
| 3 | Choose Accounts from the Security menu. |
| 4 | Find the account that you want, then choose the Reset Password option next to the account information. |
| 5 | Choose OK to assign a random password to the account (Portfolio sends the password to the email address specified in the account), or choose Cancel to leave the password as currently specified and return to Manage Users. |
